Troubleshooting

Fixes for common sync, login, and sending issues.

Hit a snag? Here are the most common fixes.

I can't sign in β€” "Invalid credentials"+
Double-check your alias email and password. After 3 failures, your account is locked for 5 minutes; wait or ask an admin to unlock.
New emails aren't appearing+
Click "Sync Now" at the top of the inbox. If that fails, check your internet and the server status. The app syncs every 30 seconds automatically.
My draft lost its paragraph spacing+
This was a known bug fixed in the latest version. Hard-refresh the page (Ctrl/⌘ + Shift + R) to load the fix.
Attachment upload fails+
Files over 25 MB are rejected. Executables (.exe, .bat, .msi) are blocked for security.
Scheduled email didn't send+
Check the Scheduled folder for error details. The most common cause is an invalid recipient address.
2FA codes aren't accepted+
Ensure your device clock is synced to network time. TOTP codes are time-sensitive. If locked out, use a recovery code or contact your admin.
Push notifications don't work+
Grant notification permission in your browser and install Bytewise Mail as a PWA for best results.
